Centaur Lodge
A visit to Cape Town will introduce you to the cosmopolitan culture of South Africa. With its natural beauty and cultural diversity, this is truly a city to enjoy. You can opt for a lovely dinner at some of the best restaurants in South Africa, or the more buzzing nightlife after your day’s riding or sight-seeing, or simply relax in peace and quiet at Centaur Lodge.
Centaur Lodge is a 4 star graded Lodge owned by Lindy Peacock, situated in the leafy village of Noordhoek on the South Peninsula of Cape Town, surrounded by mountains, in particular Chapman’s Peak, Noordhoek and the Silvermine. The Lodge is on a 4 acre property with stunning views of Chapman’s Peak, just a 25 minute ride from the beach, where we will ride along this 7-km beach with her Quarter Horses abreast. Another favourite is the ride in the mountains overlooking the two oceans, the back of Table Mountain and the stunning beach of Noordhoek.
Often we will ride into the village and tie the horses up at the favourite water hole.
The lodge is a thatched Dutch style farmhouse offering peace and tranquillity with the option to have sundowners on the deck, relax around the heated pool or just laze in the hammock.
Lindy Peacock moved to South Africa in mid 2004 with a dream of creating a specialised riding operation in Cape Town on the beaches and establishing a lodge with a wonderful atmosphere. Her horses are her passion and all are very well schooled, top quality Quarter horses and Appaloosa breeds.
We will be pleased to arrange a bespoke self-drive or adventure holiday to the Cape region for you. We recommend a minimum stay of 3 nights to enjoy the best that the Cape has to offer. We can also organise a bespoke tour of Cape Town and the Western Cape for you, taking in the city highlights, a tour through the famous Winelands, a trip to or riding on some spectacular beaches like Grotto Bay.
During your stay in Cape Town you will be able to visit the city's many attractions after an exciting ride on the beach or in the surrounding mountains, including: Robben Island; the flora and fauna of Table Mountain; Cape Town's Castle built by Jan van Riebeeck; the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront; Camps Bay; Cape Point Nature Reserve; Chapman's Peak; and the Western Cape's famous Wine Route.
In the picturesque French Huguenot town of Franschhoek, you can stay in a traditional Cape Dutch style cottage. Wine lovers will delight in being able to indulge in some wine tasting on horseback! You will have the opportunity to visit several well-known Cape estates, and perhaps purchase some of the world’s best wines.
